There’s gold in them thar hills…

We whipped this Ibanez Soundgear bass for our good pal Cordoza.  As you can see, Cordoza really likes gold.  Previously, we installed a new gold bridge, new gold tuners, and made a brass nut, as well as gutting and upgrading the original electronics .  After getting used to his new bass, he brought it back in to have a pickguard made for it.  Cordoza does a lot of slap and pop when he’s tearing it up, and he found that he was digging in too much on this bass – there was too much room under the strings, and his fingers were dipping too far below the string line.  A new pickguard would help alleviate the problem.

Trouble is, nobody makes a pickguard to fit these basses, so we had to make one.  We think it came out pretty nice.  What do you think?
