If you’ve ever wanted to make your amp sound better, sweeter, funkier, browner, more awesome, and/or more brutal, this is the way to go. You can spend a fortune swapping out tubes and caps, but nothing will make as big a difference in your tone as a really good transformer. Why? Quite simply, they are the most critical component of your amp, but since they’re so expensive, most major manufacturers skimp on them, and install the cheapest thing they can find.
